Printed here because selection is a choice, and a rule a reader cannot see is one they cannot argue with.
What is counted. Items the daily edition admitted over the seven days, plus Saturday's. The daily admits a headline when it names a company or site this record holds together with a figure or a change, names a fab or an operator the record has no row for, is carried by three or more publishers, is policy or export control, or is a company's own announcement about semiconductors. The daily itself is not published here.
A thread is a company named in three or more of those items, by two or more publishers. One publisher filing five times is that publisher's beat, not a thread. Threads are grouped by the company named, so three unrelated items about one large firm count the same as one story four publishers chased. Read the items, not the count.
A rewording is a publisher changing its own headline after this archive first saw it. The first wording is what the archive saw; the second is what stands now. Nothing is left out for being small.
What this record changed compares its own fab rows, fab statuses and gap statuses by id against its state a week earlier.
