Received CHIPS Act funding; $880m announced SiC/Si capacity expansion, absorbing volume shifted from the closing Tempe fab. Duplicate row microchip-colorado-springs folded in 21 August 2026, and the wafer size was CORRECTED from 200mm to 150mm: the 200mm came from a February 2023 expansion release describing equipment Microchip was going to install, and Microchip's FY2026 10-K says 'Fab 5, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, currently manufactures discrete and specialty products ... on 6-inch wafers', with the 8-inch expansion paused through fiscal 2027. Microchip calls this fab 'Fab 5'.
