Construction of this expansion was previously halted amid funding and demand uncertainty; Israel reportedly withdrew a $425M grant in mid-2026, and work reportedly resumed/reactivated in August 2026, though the target process node is unconfirmed. Duplicate row intel-fab38-kiryatgat folded in 21 August 2026: both were named Fab 38 at the same coordinates and Intel names only one Kiryat Gat construction project. Intel's own newsroom says the expansion 'will produce advanced chips on EUV lithography' and does not print a wafer diameter, so the 300mm here is this record's inference from EUV, not Intel's figure. Status is recorded as construction; Globes and Calcalist report parts of the project frozen since July 2025 and Intel has published nothing on it since April 2025.
